HOW TO STAY STRONG ALL SEASON
HOW TO STAY STRONG ALL SEASON
Imagine you have a race this weekend. To prepare for
it, you are going to have
at least two days of
altered training leading into it (the taper) and at least another two after (the recovery).
That has four days
within the last seven that have not been optimal training.
Then, if you are also racing the next weekend, that is another two-four days lost.
While racing is fun, and it is one of the main reasons we do this crazy sport, it can lead to reduced fitness levels if you do
not manage them
properly.
This is where this run session
comes in, as it’s designed with
the dual purpose of either tuning
you up before a race or getting
you back into harder training
post-racing if you have another event
soon after.
This session will improve your ability to run while fatigued by forcing your body to recover while still working at a moderate pace.
Complete the
session somewhere where you can
run continuously for the
entire main set to get the full benefits.
