Strong Swimmers Want a bun in the oven? Ask your guy to lay off the bacon. In a study in Human Reproduction, men whose diets contained the most saturated fat had 38 percent lower sperm concentrations than guys who ate the least saturated fat. But there is good news for wannabe papas:
Men who ate the most omega-3 fatty acids (found in salmon and nuts) had the healthiest semen.

“Sperm need the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA to function optimally,” says study author Jill Attaman, M.D., of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. “The body can’t make these on its own, so men need to get them from foods.”
